LinkedIn carousel size and dimensions
3 min read
The aspect ratios, pixel sizes and file limits LinkedIn document posts accept, plus which ratio gets the most feed height on mobile.
The short answer
Design your slides at a 4:5 portrait ratio — 1080 × 1350 px — and export them as a single PDF. Portrait takes up the most vertical space in the mobile feed, which is where nearly all carousel swipes happen.
Ratios worth using
4:5 (1080 × 1350) — the default for LinkedIn and Instagram carousels. Maximum feed height without cropping.
1:1 (1080 × 1080) — safest cross-platform option when the same deck goes to Instagram, LinkedIn and X.
16:9 (1920 × 1080) — use it only when the deck is really a presentation people will open on a laptop; it looks tiny on phones.
File rules to keep in mind
Document posts accept PDF, and the practical limit for a feed carousel is far below any hard cap — aim for under 10 slides and a file a few megabytes in size. Keep every page the same dimensions; mixed page sizes make LinkedIn letterbox some slides.
Safe margins and type size
Keep at least 6–8% padding on every edge so nothing collides with the swipe UI, and size titles so they remain legible at roughly a third of full size. If you can read a slide at thumbnail scale, it works in the feed.
DeckWave lets you switch between 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 with one click and re-exports the whole deck at the new ratio, so you can test which one fits your content.
